President's Message 2010

I am privileged and honoured to be elected to the position as National President of the Irish Shows Association for 2010.

Congratulations to our Agricultural Show Committies and volunteers of which we have over 135 throughout the 32 counties of Ireland for their committment and dedication of their time year on year.

I wish all our exhibitors a safe and enjoyable showing season ahead.

To our loyal sponsors who continue to support our shows, the national and local press and media for their continued exposure of our shows, our judges who work so hard to get it right I say Thank You.

Safety is close to my heart when it comes to shows, so if there are signs to give directions or stewards giving directions please obey them and be vigilant at all times.

Shows are social occasions so I urge committees to make their shows a family day out by including music and side attractions and if you have not included poultry classes give them come thought as poultry has become very popular with the youth.

Finally I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone involved in the showing world a safe and accident free season.
